When our clients bought their 4 bedroom 1950s Maori Hill home, they knew they had work on their hands. While the bones were good, it was in definite need of updating in all areas, leading to a lengthy journey to update this home for contemporary living while keeping the mid-century feel alive.
Arranged over 2 levels, with bedrooms and the family bathroom at the top and living on the level below, all the spaces were stripped out, insulated and relined, and a stunning new kitchen installed.
Original 1950’s features, such as the wrought iron balustrade and Rimu flooring, were retained and new sympathetic mid-century elements such as the stepped timber screen at the foot of the stair, and marmoleum flooring, were also added to enhance this mid-century make over
